In 1985, she joined the Editorial Staff of the news bulletin of the second channel (TVE2) and in 1989 took charge of co-ordinating the political news and hosted the regional news bulletin at the Castilla-La Mancha Regional Centre. She returned in 1991 to the Madrid-based news department, and in 1996 she took charge of the political news section of the bulletins, dealing with the co-ordination of the parliamentary news at TVE.
Ms. Lomana joined Antena 3 in 1999, heading the political news section of the News Division. She combined this task with her activities as a member of the tertulia “El Primer Café” and, subsequently, in “La Respuesta”. On 8 July 2003 she took charge of the News Department of Antena 3, and in May 2012 she was appointed News Director-in-chief of the Antena 3 Group.
Among other awards, Gloria Lomana obtained the “Premio a la Excelencia Empresarial y Profesional”, granted in 2009 by the Círculo de Mujeres de Negocios (Businesswomen’s Association) and the “Master de Oro Estatutario” granted in 2010 by the Forum de Alta Dirección (Top Management Forum), in recognition of her work as News Director of Antena 3.
Currently, Gloria Lomana is one of the members of the Jury for the “Príncipe de Asturias” award for International Cooperation, and of the juries for the “Alfonso Ussia”, “Marcas Renombradas Españolas” and “Premios Universidad Empresa” awards. She has also been a member of the Jury for the “Rey Jaime I” Journalism Awards.
